Without a U.S.-bound 300 Series Land Cruiser, the Lexus LX 600 is America’s only way to experience the new full-size SUV platform. Riding on a four-corner hydraulic pressure suspension and utilizing the same 112-inch wheelbase the LX has had since 1995, the LX 600 blends old and new for a familiar yet sophisticated off-road ready package. Styling is even more bold than the predecessor, weight is down by over 400 pounds, and the iconic tailgate is gone. Inside, the LX borrows the new Lexus NX’s responsive infotainment system, complemented by a digital gauge cluster and secondary screen. Several trims are available, including our tester’s rear seat captains chairs and third row delete.

Does the new LX have the street charm and off-road credentials to warrant a buy over rivals like the Cadillac Escalade, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Land Rover Range Rover? Find out in this POV Drive Review.
