Lightly refreshed for the 2021 model year, the Porsche Panamera sports a tweaked nose and rump, revamped infotainment, restyled steering wheel, and new powertrain options. At the heart of the entry-level Panamera is a new 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that’s more efficient and modestly more torquey than the outgoing 3.0-liter unit, though down on total output. And while it’s loaded with pricey options, this base Panamera affords an opportunity to evaluate the four-door coupe’s dynamics, design, and interior quality relative to competitors.

Do the changes for 2021 warrant the Panamera’s loftier price tag, or are you better off saving some cash and choosing the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, or Audi A7? Find out in this in-depth review.
